“The technology itself is not transformative. It’s the school, the pedagogy, that is transformative.” - Tanya Byron
Technology
There are a few pieces of technological hardware and software that would aid in creating the instructional videos necessary for the success of the Flipped Classroom. Below is a list and brief description of those resources.
Tablet PC
Headphones and Microphone
These will enable to me to speak without much background noise while teaching lessons via the tablet PC. Some can be plugged into the audio/headphones input while others can be plugged into a USB port. The USB headphones and microphone allow for higher quality audio input. Lessons can be recorded with sound or voice-overs may be added post inking as well.

TechSmith Camtasia

TechSmith SnagIT
SnagIT is an easy screen capture software used to create interesting training documents, collaborative design work, IT bug reports, and more. Here it would be used to create worksheets to help guide note-taking when viewing instructional videos. It could also be used to create activity sheets for work in class where geometric images can easily be embedded. With its simple screen grab tool and impressive list of image editing features, the possibilities are endless.

TechSmith Jing
Jing is an easy way to capture images and videos of what you see on your screen. Videos made using Jing can then be pulled into Camtasia for further editing and production of polished instructional videos. It could also be used to produce very short tutorial videos or answer students questions when not in the classroom.

TI Smartview
This easy-to-use software complements the TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus families of graphing calculators, letting the educator project an interactive representation of the calculator’s display to the entire class. It is an ideal demonstration tool for leading classroom instruction of math and science concepts. Using TI Smartview, the calculator functionality can be included in instructional videos.
